Custom Dynamic Pages vs. Static Web Pages
I can make a web site that you can update at any time without my intervention. Upcoming calendar events for the next week (or month) can automatically show up on the home page, then disappear automatically when the time passes. I can make your data searchable, sortable, updateable and uniform. I can do all this by tying the web site to an SQL Server database. This costs more up-front to build, but your monthly costs will be almost nothing because you will be updating it yourself. Price depends on the complexity of the application, so we’ll have to sit down first and work out the project’s requirements before I can give you a quote.
Of course, I can also build a site without database functionality, and update it manually whenever you want. For manual updates, I will track time spent on the updates on a month-by-month basis, add it up and bill you to the nearest 5-minute increment at a rate of $100/hour. Most text changes take about 10 minutes to make, so your monthly bill would just depend on how often you make changes.
